It can be a tough time for relatives when it comes to moving a family member into a nursing home, so knowing what to expect when they get there can ease any worries.
At Morris Care we aim to provide all the necessities for their room to continue with everyday life. However, we also like to encourage family and friendsĀ to bring small items to help personalise rooms and make them more homely and comfortable for residents.
We also ensure welcome packs are ready when residents arrive. This pack includes a welcome guide detailing their home and staff andĀ an A-Z directory consisting of all the local contacts the resident may need during their stay with us.
Each room comes equipped with a bed, television, wardrobe and comfy chair, and each en-suite contains towels, hand sanitizer and a waste-paper bin.
We encourage residents to bring smaller items or a handful of their favourite things to furnish the area such as books, flowers, photos and ornaments.
All of our nursing homes operate a shopping trolley service, whereby residents, families and relatives can purchase items for their room as and when they please. The Social Life Coordinator will visit each resident with the trolley which contains treats, sweets and general shampoos and shower gels for them to pick and choose from should they wish.
