Students lead shed makeover for care home residents

A group of Shrewsbury schoolgirls with a passion for their community have transformed a garden shed at Isle Court Nursing Home with a seaside themed revamp.

Morris Care welcomed the hardworking students from Shrewsbury School to Isle Court in Bicton on the 12th June, where all the volunteers worked enthusiastically to personalise and brighten the shed.

The project was arranged by the faculty at Shrewsbury School six months ago when the students had offered to assist with the project to brighten the garden shed and the students were raring to go when the summer season arrived.

Roberto Tumaliuan, Home Manager at Isle Court said: “It is amazing how a simple lick of paint can transform a simple shed that turns our courtyard garden into a relaxing and inviting space for families and residents to enjoy. The students brought with them very positive attitudes and willingness to put all their effort in for the few hours it took to complete and the residents and staff are very grateful.”

“Working in partnership with Shrewsbury School was a great way to involve the community in the homes activities and integrate the residents with volunteer groups. We are definitely looking forward to working with Shrewsbury School for future projects.”

As an established family business, Morris Care takes great pride in its staff and residents across its six care homes within Shropshire and Cheshire.
