Bad weather didn’t dampen the spirit of residents at Stretton Hall nursing home as they enjoyed an end of summer fayre.
The event took place in the cosy surroundings of the 18th century building along with friends and family.
Visitors were encouraged to hedge their bets on a raffle, tombola stall and the ‘infamous’ bottle wall where those who wished to take part paid £1 and selected a bag to win either a bottle of champagne, a bottle of wine, sherry, squash or perfume.
There were also lots of items for sale, from new and used DVD’s and CD’s plus a variety of plants and cakes.
“It was great to see everyone enjoying themselves and getting involved in the activities along with their friends and family.
“A vital part of life when moving into a nursing home is to make sure there is plenty of opportunity to socialise. Activities such as this are important in providing a safe and stimulating environment for the people in our care; so we are delighted they are so well received.”
