Morris Care in the running for three national awards

We’re celebrating no fewer than three nominations for national accolades in the care industry with news that we have been shortlisted as Finalists in the prestigious Caring UK and Leaders in Care Awards programmes.

Our Isle Court home in Bicton, Shrewsbury has been shortlisted in the ‘Regional Care Home of the Year Midlands and Wales’ at the Caring UK Awards, which recognises excellence and achievement within the care sector across the UK. Adding to our celebrations, our General Manager at Isle Court, Claire Harris is also a Finalist in the Leaders in Care Awards for Registered Manager of the Year.

We’ve also been announced as Finalist in the ‘Care Home Provider of the Year’ Leaders in Care Awards recognising the our outstanding care over the past 12 challenging months.

Lucy Holl, Chief Executive was thrilled to hear the news of the Finalist nominations: “We are acutely aware of the dedication and commitment of our teams, but it is deeply gratifying to be recognised by our industry peers for all that hard work and endeavour. My thanks and congratulations go out to every single member of our team of 560 who together create the outstanding brand of home and care we deliver 24:7, 365 days a year.”

An awards spokesperson from Caring UK said: “Never has there been a more appropriate time to recognise the amazing and selfless contribution that our carers make and how they have given so much to protect and care for their residents in the face of unprecedented challenges.”

Claire Harris’s approachable management style and emphasis on teamwork resonates with her staff and has created a genuine family atmosphere at the Good CQC-rated home. Lucy Holl was particularly pleased to hear of Claire’s nomination:

“Claire’s passion for the job is self-evident in the respect she has earnt from her amazing team and her connection with every one of her residents.  Hers is the highest rated nursing home in Shropshire with a 9.9 rating on carehome.co.uk.  She is all about providing great care and great memories for those living at Isle Court as important parts of our philosophy of best practice”.

The highly popular and beautifully appointed nursing home with its expansive gardens and rural views, sits just outside the town centre of Shrewsbury.

The winners for Caring UK will be revealed at an awards ceremony, hosted by Emmerdale actor Dean Andrews, at The Athena in Leicester on December 1 and the Leaders in Care winners are to be announced on October 11th.  At both events, the industry gathers to salute all that is great about the caring sector and recognise the amazing contribution it makes throughout the year.
