Huge Contributions for Local Charity

One of our staff members, Janice Spibey, has recently completed her 12th charity Midnight Walk raising over £16,000 for local hospice, St Luke’s Cheshire Hospice.

Janice’s relationship with St Luke’s Hospice started in 1988 when she joined a committee who regularly hosted traditional garden parties at Corbrook and around the local area. After 16 years, the hospice organised its first Midnight Walk which Janice was keen to get involved with as a way of continuing to raise money in a new and engaging way.

This year the Midnight Walk in Audlem was Janice’s 12th attempt, walking over 13.1 miles in 3 hours 50 minutes. In celebration of Janice’s immense efforts in raising substantial money for the charity over the last few years, we have also donated funds to bring the 2016 grand total up to £2,000.

When asked about her inspiration to continue doing the Midnight Walk, Janice said: “I really couldn’t do it without the support from the people of Audlem who continue to sponsor me year after year. The donation from Morris Care will really spur me on to continue fundraising for this wonderful charity.”

Lindsey Marren, Operational Support Manager at Morris Care said: “Janice has been part of our team at Corbrook Park for four years and her notorious Midnight Walks are known to everybody at the home. We are so proud of her achievements and hope our contribution will help to support those who use the services of St Luke’s Hospice.”

St Luke’s Cheshire Hospice has been providing a service to people in need since 1983 and continues to support those with life limiting illnesses throughout mid and south Cheshire.
