Happy Halloween!

We don’t tend to encourage any ghosts, ghouls and anything remotely scary in our Nursing Homes at Halloween, because not everyone finds it entertaining! However, our residents have still been getting in the spirit with some Halloween themed crafts and baking.

Residents at Oldbury Grange Nursing Home in Bridgnorth made some environmentally friendly bird feeders – out of pumpkins! So the pumpkins didn’t go to waste and to encourage more birds to visit the Home, residents filled the empty pumpkin shells with bird feed and hung them from the balcony which overlooks the grounds. The residents love seeing the birds and we think these new additions will definitely attract more!

Baking is a great way to relax, it stimulates the senses and is very creative. Our Stretton Hall residents decorated some pumpkin shaped biscuits with lots of delicious toppings.

The final pumpkin related activity was at Isle Court. Social Life Coordinator, Debbie, went around the Home asking for help from residents to carve some masterpieces. From cats to bucked teeth faces, the end result was great!
