Celebrating International Women’s Day 2020

We are extremely proud and lucky to have a number of inspirational women working for us in various roles across our six Nursing Homes in Shropshire and Cheshire. This International Women’s Day, there are two women in particular that stand out as fantastic role models in our profession and how they got there is truly inspirational.

Rhea Paller, Clinical Governance and Innovation Manager

Rhea joined the team at Oldbury Grange in Bridgnorth in 2014 as an overseas nurse from the Philippines working towards her NMC registration. Rhea immediately shone and it was clear to see she was going to do very well as a nurse and when she received her NMC pin in 2016, she was deservingly promoted to Registered Nurse Team Leader.

Rhea’s knowledge, expertise and management skills grew phenomenally with us over the years and subsequently, she was promoted to Oldbury Grange’s Deputy Manager in 2017, Nurse Manager at Stretton Hall Nursing Home in 2018 and then later that year, she returned to Oldbury as Home Manager.

It didn’t stop there for Rhea, her clinical expertise, excellent practice and fantastic management qualities put her in the rightful position to take up the new role of Clinical Governance and Innovation Manger in October 2019. This exciting new role is strengthening and enhancing the governance of our service, as well as ensuring that through innovative practice, we remain the provider and employer of choice.

Rhea commented: “My career progression has been heavily influenced not only by my own perseverance and dedication, but also by Morris Care’s unwavering support, and the people I work with, who have always welcomed any opportunity to help me achieve everything I have today.”

Lindsey Arnold, Training and Development Officer

Lindsey started working at Morris Care Centre in Telford in 2004 as a Care Assistant. Her passion to deliver excellent care was clear and we, and our residents, could see that. Lindsey worked her way up to Care Supervisor and completed her Level 3 in Heath and Social Care in 2005.

With a drive to achieve more and look after our residents at a higher level still in her, Lindsey put herself forward to be a part of our first cohort of Nursing Assistants. This new position was created to recognise and build on the skills and talent of our Care Assistants.

Of course, Lindsey passed with flying colours and after just a year in the role, she was promoted to Training and Development Officer. She now oversees the Induction Programme for new employees, organises and manages all mandatory training and provides vital support to staff in the Homes.

We are so grateful to have Rhea and Lindsey working with us at Morris Care alongside many other talented and inspirational individuals.
