Kylie Moorhouse Housekeeper - Care Centre

“I joined Morris Care in June 2004 straight after leaving school. I knew about the company and the opportunities available as my sister worked there. She is still part of the team today as a Care Supervisor.

Starting as a domestic, I worked my way up to become Housekeeper.  I now manage the domestic team, supervising and supporting them, I mentor and train new staff and I am responsible for ordering all the stock the team requires.

Morris Care has provided a range of training to support my career path, including team leader training and mentorship training as well as practical skills like manual handling of equipment.

I enjoy and know the job well and I know the residents well too. It is a great environment to work in because it is welcoming, people work as a team and we have a good relationship with the residents.

If you are confident, able to get on with people, willing to work hard and work independently you will succeed. Experience is not necessary. We look for people who take pride in what they do.

It is important to have the right attitude and passion for your role and to have a caring nature as we interact with residents on a daily basis in what is their home.”
