A message from Morris Care Chief Executive

As an integral part of our constant assessment and application of safety measures within our homes, we are looking to innovation to help further protect and support the stringent measures already in place.

This week we are trialling a brand new WorkSAFE Smart Temperature Detection & Hand Sanitising Station.  This uses infrared thermal imaging technology to detect the temperature of a person. It provides non-contact rapid temperature detection, automatically broadcasts a voice message measuring the result and either presents the individual as having a normal temperature or sounds an alarm when raised temperature is detected.  It is also equipped with an automatic hand sanitiser dispenser.

This model, one of the very latest innovations developed from China, has had a significant impact on epidemic prevention and control and is especially suitable for care homes.  If the trial is successful and deemed helpful as another measure to regularly test our staff, I will be ordering units for all our homes as some of the first in the UK to feature the new innovation.

I am pleased to report that we have now been able to request the new COVID-19 testing kits for use with all residents and staff whether symptomatic or non-symptomatic, as per the Government guidance. We are ensuring that our Nursing team are trained on the appropriate techniques required to undertake the test and have comprehensive risk assessments in place in line with all the new changes set by the Government.

The safety and protection of both our residents and our staff team remains my number one priority.

"A lovely care home in serene grounds. Highly trained staff looked after our mother with care and attention at all times. The level of care, food/beverages and comfort is the best I have seen. I would have no hesitation in recommending Isle Court."
