Life at Morris Care Centre

The sense of warmth and welcome on arrival at Morris Care Centre sets it apart in the hearts and minds of those who live with us and those who visit.

The moment you walk into the spacious paneled reception lounge, you are met with a smile from Rachel on reception and the wonderful caring team who work tirelessly to make this feel like a genuine home from home.

Its uniqueness comes from the three different Courts within the centre, each delivering a different type of specialist care. Wellington Court provides complex disability care for all age groups. Wrekin Court cares for the elderly, including respite, convalescence and palliative care. Ercall Court is just a short walk along Holyhead Road and provides specialist dementia care.

Carol Jones
General Manager

I have always been passionate about the delivery of quality care, tailored to the individual. Everyone of our residents has a different life story which we take into account so they can live as they wish, with all the additional benefits a caring and secure environment brings.

Christina Mahlangu
Registered Nurse

In my role, I really get to know residents. It’s the interaction and sense of friendship that develops which makes my role so special for me.

Anu Thomas
Registered Nurse

Nursing isn't just simply about providing clinical solutions, it’s about making sure we listen and help with overall well being and that sense of happiness, when you know you belong.

Jenni Appleton
Social Life Co-Ordinator

Whether it is planning an interesting day out, a stimulating event in the Home, or just hosting a fun arts and crafts afternoon with residents, my role is to ensure the social life here at Morris Care Centre is engaging and varied with something for everyone.

Emily Pilling
Care Assistant

Sometimes the most important time in my day, when I feel I make a real difference is a few moments spent reminiscing with a resident on a happy memory. It adds sunshine to their day and mine.

Kylie Moorhouse

No two days are the same when you are looking after a busy home with so much going on. Housekeeping ensures everything is working as it should and tip top so it feels like home.

Morris Care Centre

Compassionate Care

At the Care Centre, the living rooms and dining areas are designed to meet the needs of the residents living in the different courts, with an open plan lounge and bright conservatories along with cosy, sociable areas. The gardens are accessible to enjoy with family and friends.

Wrekin Court

We know that everyone is different and one size does not fit all. We carefully assess your needs and personalise your care to make it exactly right for you, with your happiness and well being at the heart. Our dedicated, well-trained and hard-working staff love to get to know you, learning about your favourite pastimes, food choices and we especially love to get to know your family. All the ingredients for a happy home life.

Wellington Court

We have many years of specialist experience providing complex nursing care and support at Wellington Court, from rehabilitation for those who have sustained a brain injury to nursing-led tracheostomy care. Following an assessment with a clinical nurse manager, you’ll be matched with a care team who have the right experience and personality to support you in your daily routine.

Ercall Court

Ercall Court is a cosy, specially designed Home, ideal if you are living with dementia. With just 11 bedrooms, each with individually coloured bedroom doors, non-reflective glass and other dementia friendly finishes, we understand the importance of promoting a sense of calm. It’s a real home from home with dignified care that respects the individual and ensures residents are able to continue living fulfilling lives.

Dedicated themed areas around the Home are designed to support those ‘walking with purpose’, stimulating interest and promoting happy memories. A sensory and relaxing Spa Room provides a therapeutic and enjoyable experience, with a specialist massage bathing system ideal for those with reduced postural control. Our care philosophy aims to reduce anxiety and stress and can lead to real therapeutic benefits.
